Visa on Arrival
Service Description
* The Ghana Visa on Arrival (VoA), officially known as the Emergency Entry Visa (EEV). Is typically used by travelers who did not obtain a visa at a Ghanaian embassy prior to departure. This specialized service requires a pre-approved letter from the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS), usually arranged by a local host. Is a specialized entry permit for travelers who cannot obtain a visa from a Ghanaian embassy before departure. * Mandatory Pre-Approval: You cannot simply arrive at the airport and apply. A host in Ghana must submit a formal request and receive an approval letter for you in advance. * Duration & Entry: Typically valid for a single entry of up to 30 days. * Eligibility: Reserved for those from countries without a Ghana embassy, short-notice business/emergency travelers, or individuals sponsored by a local organization. * Mandatory Requirement: A valid Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is strictly required for all travelers. Because you cannot apply for this yourself online from abroad, the process relies on a host in Ghana. * The Application Process * 1. Host Submission: Your host (a Ghanaian citizen, registered company, or hotel) must physically visit the GIS Headquarters in Accra to submit an application on your behalf. * 2. Required Documents: Your host must provide your passport bio-data page, flight itinerary, proof of accommodation, and a formal request letter. * 3. Approval Letter: Once approved (usually in 5–15 business days), GIS issues an Approval Letter. Your host must email this to you. * 4. Boarding & Arrival: You must present a printed copy of this letter at airline check-in. Upon landing at Kotoka International Airport (ACC), you will exchange this letter for a physical visa stamp.
